Each year, approximately thirty-five nurses from across the state are invited from every area of practice ranging from acute care to public health, to participate in the Tennessee Leadership Institute for Nursing Excellence (T-LINE), an innovative program designed to prepare nurses to contribute as leaders to their profession.
Nurses are selected based on defined criteria related to demonstrated clinical leadership skills, supervisor recommendations, the nurse's stated career goals, and potential for professional leadership.
This growth opportunity is being offered at no cost to the nurse, in an informal group setting. Nurses will have the opportunity to interact with motivational speakers and nursing leaders on a variety of topics relevant to practice, personal development, client advocacy, and leadership. The Institute is held at Fall Creek Falls State Parks, one of Tennessee's premier State Parks.
The 2008 program brought in experts in the nursing field to speak on nursing leadership issues such as Conflict Resolution, Team Building and Leadership Ethics. TCN would like to thank Donna Herrin, Shayla Green, Gary L. Sculli, Lynn Whisman, Lynn Cagle, Chris Clarke, Peggy Strong, Sam Maceri, Judy Davis, Anita Rivera and Lennisa Mostella for presenting at this years T-LINE.
